We’re lucky to live in an area that is ripe with mental health resources. There are a lot of amazing people who do great work. For families and kids who are struggling, the more supports in place, the better. Here are a few that are good to just know about:

Alachua County Crisis Center

The Crisis Center is available 24 hours a day by phone to offer crisis and suicide prevention counseling to all Alachua County residents.

LGBT Resources

Gainesville Equality Youth – This is a group for teens that meets twice per month at the downtown library here in Gainesville, and it’s open to all teens.

PFLAG
– People of all ages are welcome at the PFLAG chapter meetings, but anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Childcare can also be made available for parents with small children if needed by contacting the organization 1-2 weeks ahead.
